Second tour of the Rose Bowl facilities

Second tour of the Rose Bowl facilities

On 23rd May, Trustees of the Friends of the Rose Bowl joined donors, supporters and guests on a second tour of the youth hub. Despite the chilly weather, the bright and inviting rooftop proved its worth as a place to gather for refreshments, to catch up and share moving and inspirational stories.

Oswin Baker, FoRB Chair, and Clive Tachie, Senior Youth Worker, welcomed guests and provided an update on the activities at the Rose Bowl, including the food bank. It is a central part of supporting families struggling with the increasing cost of living.

Here is a sample of responses from the guests:

An excellent evening, for which many thanks. Congratulations on navigating your way through Covid, and good luck in building support in the future. Please pass on my thanks to Clive, Dawn and Stacey, together with the four young people present – you appear to have a great team to promote the Rose Bowl.

Many thanks for a wonderful tour of the Rose Bowl last night. It was fascinating to hear about all the programmes that the centre runs as well as meet some of the young people involved.

Nice to meet staff and young people. What stars they are…. I love the scale of the building and it’s community feel.
