The splendid sunshine on Sunday 4th June saw a record numbers of visitors to the National Garden Scheme Open Day in Alwyne Road.
We are grateful to Liz and Jack Lambert, who work tirelessly to nurture their garden and welcome local residents and visitors from further afield.
It was such a convivial experience as visitors chatted over scrumptious home baked cakes and refreshments whilst enjoying the beautiful flowers, shrubs and trees and glimpsing the New River.
Each year the Lamberts nominate two local charities, including the Friends of the Rose Bowl (FoRB), to share the proceeds from a raffle of donated prizes.
Thanks also to newly elected FoRB Chair, Oswin Baker and Trustees Nina Konrad, Sylvana Caloni and Paul O’Donnell who were on hand to explain how the charity supports Islington youth.

What a fabulous event. I look forward to spending a few hours in floral heaven every year through the generosity and kindness of the Lamberts.
