2019 Auction and Dinner a great success

The Trustees of the Friends of the Rose Bowl are grateful to our guests for their generous donations and pledges to support the operations of the Rose Bowl Hub.

Emily Olden, Mehmet Erdogan and Kieron Mugauu, participants of the Rose Bowl Hub, did an excellent job of selling raffle tickets and postcards created by the children.

They also spoke of how the sessions and play at the Rose Bowl Hub provides them with a safe space to learn skills, create a community, have fun and build confidence.

As our long-time supporters Lorraine and Don Baldry said:

“The 2019 Auction and Dinner was another great evening in support of the really excellent Rose Bowl Hub and we are  pleased to say that we usually manage to win one or two of the auction prizes. The benefits described by the young people who attend show how important the Club is to the youth of Islington. Congratulations to all”.

Jonathan Gibbs, Managing Director of Isledon, and Oswin Baker, Chair of the Friends of the Rose Bowl, gave us an update on the sessions offered and increased participation rates at the Hub. Such engagement is critical at a time when the Borough of Islington has seen a rise in knife crimes and violence.

We are grateful to Hugh Creasy, from Christies for his skills in conducting the auction and keeping our guests entertained. Also the staff of Frederick’s were very friendly and attentive to the needs of our guests and the food was excellent.
